Challenge
The HRC Houston Facebook page has roughly 5.6K followers, many of which make up the membership base for the Houston area. We wanted to utilize this channel to more successfully connect our local membership to efforts done nationally, as well as to encourage members to participate in local events.
Solution
As part of a volunteer-based steering committee, I was tasked with publishing continuous communications that announced upcoming events, national news, and photos of our membership. I accomplished this by creating a social media strategy which developed a cadence for the different posts, as well as a method for other committee members to feature pertinent content.
Results
There was an increase in the number of followers by 20% within a years time. The methods put into place helped to establish a consistent brand message and guidelines for future volunteers to follow.
